Years 4 to 6 are are all about consolidating key skills in literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving. Pupils deepen their understanding across the curriculum and are encouraged to take more responsibility for their learning.

A time of growing independence. Pupils begin applying their skills to more complex tasks and start to develop their own learning habits.  

A year of transition. Pupils are supported through end-of-year assessments (e.g.,Welsh National Tests or internal exams) and begin preparing for the step up to secondary school.
